Tokio Hotel Fulfilled Fantasy

Tokio Hotel
Fulfilled Fantasy
Jockey Club – November 25, 2010
The road that took Tokio Hotel fans up to the concert in Lima was long, very long and tiring. But when things are like that they are enjoyed way more. And that is what the nine thousand people that attended the show did: enjoy it until their hearts almost exploded with joy. There were those that went to the airport the day before, others that had camped outside the Jockey prior to the concert, but all were already inside the venue by about nine that night, looking at the white curtain that would fall to give way for the first song of the show (‘Noise’) and the madness of the fans.
“Make some noise!…”, sang Bill Kaulitz in company of his band, when all of a sudden the first unconscious girls of the night would appear, victims to the powerful charm of these four Germans, or simply victims to the weakness for having stood in long lines and long waits. However it was, the crowd’s energy reached a thousand at the start of the concert and would not sink below that. ‘Human Connect to Human’, ‘Breakaway’, and ‘Pain of Love’ would rise the commotion among fans that would not stop screaming and shedding several emotional tears.
Bill Kaulitz also looked emotional, adorned with his futuristic costumes, connected to batteries that would make them glow, just as he had told us in the interview we had some weeks ago, before they arrived in Lima. Tom for his part wore the same attire from the DVD and drove his fans mad with his way of playing the guitar and with each provocative facial gesture that the oldest of the Kaulitz would give them.
Georg Listing, with his long hair and Gustav Schaefer, with a more casual style at the drums, demonstrated that they also had their admirers, that would scream for them and would not stop taking their picture. During the concert, the fans went crazy for their most popular songs like ‘Automatic’, ‘World Behind My Wall’, and ‘Darkside of the Sun’, and would not hesitate to capture the best photos or videos of the show.
In the visual aspect, the European quartet presented a futuristic stage, where you could not forget the giant screens, hydraulic platforms, bridges and the hoped for motorcycle. We didn’t expect there would be a catwalk, but there was; even though the band only used it three or four times. And it was better that way, because due to so much commotion from the fans an accident could have been caused.
In the end the band left pleased, as Bill said at various occasions, and only time will tell if they are willing to return in the future. The only sure thing is that they will always have people waiting for them here.
